Yearning.

by Melville
(United Kingdom)

Ive longed for you and yearned for you

For such a long long time.

Summers come,winters here

Surely its no crime?

Love has to be a duo

Not just one taking part

Each giving to the other

Or it can never start.

Fate throws to us a curve ball

Sends in someone new

Plying her with love words

Made her feel less blue.

A heart will only ever stray

When all hope it seems is lost

Will her love not see this

Then realize the cost?

To another she has fled

Choosing second best

Did he ever really know?

He was her real true quest.

I did not ask for riches

Or mansions by the sea

Just two loving arms around me

To set this yearning free.
